From business curiosity to graduation with credentials

Morgan is a fictional Georgia learner. The six-course eDynamic sequence is publisher-listed; its placement in grades 9–11 and the grade 12 college-course pairing are this site’s proposed example.

Georgia: what shapes the plan?

Plan with a participating Georgia college and use approved Course Directory entries. Track eligibility and the cumulative state funding cap before selecting college courses.

Explore how a business works

Morgan, a fictional Georgia student interested in starting a small business, studies business models, marketing, finance and ethical decisions while completing required diploma coursework.

What the student can show

Sample evidence: a business concept, customer profile and starting budget.

Who supports the student?

The counselor and CTE lead confirm local high-school course codes, credit values and a schedule that preserves graduation requirements.

Credit distinction: Grade 9 is preparation in this example. Ninth-grade students are not eligible for Georgia’s Dual Enrollment Funding Program; the eDynamic sequence does not itself earn college credit.

Georgia implementation: what needs approval?
  • Participating college + approved courses: identify an eligible Georgia institution and its exact approved Course Directory entries, course codes, credit hours and diploma equivalencies. Business and computer applications are illustrative subjects only; confirm current offerings and a participating college. Course titles do not establish Georgia funding eligibility. Approved Course Directory ↗
  • Student eligibility: verify residency and citizenship criteria, school approval, college admission, academic progress and the student/parent participation agreement. Eligible grades 11–12 students can take approved courses. Grade 9 students are not eligible for this state funding program. Grade 10 has narrower CTAE/technical-college rules and a qualifying test-score exception; review these if moving college study earlier. Georgia eligibility ↗
  • Funding ledger: the cumulative cap is 30 semester or 45 quarter hours. Include any ACE Grant-funded Accelerated Career Diploma hours that count toward this cap. Eligible funded courses receive standard tuition, mandatory fees and required books under program rules; confirm uncovered costs separately. This example follows a standard diploma pathway and does not claim Accelerated Career Diploma eligibility. Funding and award rules ↗
  • Credential recognition and cost: confirm the exact ESB exam/version, testing arrangements and any school recognition separately. Do not treat the eDynamic sequence or ESB exam as automatically covered by Georgia dual-enrollment funding.
  • Exam readiness: Certiport describes an expectation of at least 150 hours of instruction; completing courses does not award ESB. Confirm the current exam requirements and testing policies. ESB issuer information ↗
  • Student cost and access: name who pays for instruction, materials, software, devices and exams. Confirm accessibility, accommodations and support before enrollment.
How could the district run this without individual teacher enrollment work?

Proposed operating model: one district coordinator and one college liaison manage a cohort roster, consent, eligibility checks and transcript reconciliation. Teachers receive a concise exception list for students needing help. Validate available roster integrations with Pearson; automated enrollment is not assumed.

Review participation, course completion, exam results, applicable credits, student feedback and staff minutes per enrollment. These are proposed measures, not observed results.
